Hi! I’m Emma, the founder of PupPouch. I launched PupPouch in April 2021 with a mission to make dog walks easier and more enjoyable.

Originally from Halifax, UK, I now call Canada home. Dogs have always been a big part of my life—I grew up surrounded by them and have always been drawn to their energy. So it’s no surprise that when I moved to Canada, I found myself right at home with a Pack of Pups!

When the COVID-19 shutdowns hit in 2020, I lost my job. To stay afloat—and stay sane—I was lucky enough to spend my days walking my lovely neighbors’ dogs. During lockdown, I found comfort in my ‘Lab Pack’: Stella, Finn, and Pax—three black lab mixes who became my daily companions and a true saving grace during that strange time.

But as much as I loved our long, refreshing forest walks, carrying around three bags of poop definitely took away from the experience. It didn’t take long before I started designing what would eventually become PupPouch.

Oh, and I should mention—Finn had allergies and was on a mostly fish-based diet… Let’s just say we can all thank him for making sure PupPouches are, above all else, smell-proof

As much as I love dogs, I don't love the smell of their poop or carrying those warm bags of treasure they lave for us! I quickly got fed up of the smell and inconvenience of having my hands full and juggling leashes, recall and poo bags.

I'd divert off my route to head for a bin, or do the 'leave next to trail and return for it on the way back' method. Both options meant my route choices were being dictated by poop and I wanted the freedom to roam.

I'd see bikers with poop bags dangling from their handlebars, or bags tied on to backpacks and I wondered why there wasn't a solution for this very common unpleasant job.

I made the very first PupPouch out of a popped inflatable and some glue with zero thought of selling them. I'd try to be as sneaky as possible when using it, as I was aware I looked a bit odd putting poop in my pocket or backpack!

I thought it'd be a silly little invention I'd use to make my life easier, but I loved how much better it made outings; from walks, to bike rides to camping.I realised my dislike for poop duties (and the lack of an easy solution) was not unique, and other dog owners might enjoy the ease of using a PupPouch too.

Dog owners are generally a pretty conscientious bunch who love enjoying nature with their dogs -so why not make it as easy as possible to clean up after our dogs?

After a few months of trying out the right designs, I had a factory prototype produced and sold my first 100 in Whistler -the most supportive community in the world!

Following the support I put my optimistic pants on, invested in more PupPouches for Canada, and also sent PupPouches home to the UK. (Where my wonderful Mum is shipping out orders for me - Thanks Mum!).

One of my "lab pack" who I absolutely fell in love with, and was my first PupPouch poster girl, is now a part of our family. We got the opportunity to adopt her in 2023. She's completed this little pack of ours and continues to be an enthusiastic model for PupPouch! So here we are... from poop to product! The pup pouch is fantastic! I had (sadly) learned to accept having to carry steamy poo on our forest walks with the dog, until the pup pouch solved this for me! Cutest design, quality materials and it does was it’s meant to do. More dog owners need this, it solves the problem of abandoned dog waste bags because people don’t want to wait for the next bin. Love love love my pup pouch. As a professional dog walker and a dog mom I can honestly say this has made my walks better. I'm not trying poop bags to my leash or treat pouch, not having to smell what I'm carrying. There's never enough garbages on trails, and this amazing bag solves that problem. My dog stress poops, and so that means 3 or 4 poops on a walk now I just toss those poop bag in the pouch and off I go instead of trying to juggle them. And when I'm walking clients they tend to poop 10mins into a walk and no garbage around for another 10mins. Makes it a less smelly easier to focus on the dogs Kinda walk. Instead of having a stinky poop bag tied to me. Love my pup pouch. Highly recommended for dog walking pros and dog parents.

One of the best purchases I’ve made. My walks are now sooo much more enjoyable because I don’t constantly have to be on the lookout for a trash can. Also, I don’t have to mildly resent my pups for pooping 200meters past the trash can. Hands are kept free so I can carry treats instead of poop.
